Trifles, by Susan Glaspell, was misleading but interesting. On your initial reading the focus of the play is not clear. The play seems to be about two men trying to find a motive for a murder while two women, who are trying to occupy their time, discover a dead bird. While this characteristic of the play frustrated me, it also made me curious to know if the play had a different meaning. Reading this play reminded me of the first time I watched Monster’s Ball and didn’t know what it was about. Although I still do not know what Monster’s Ball is about, reading Trifles for the second time proved to be different.

Glaspell’s indirect focus became apparent to me in my second reading. The symbolism is a good aspect of the play. The dead bird that Ms. Hale and Mrs. Peters discover is a symbol of Minnie Foster’s internal death. The open birdcage symbolizes the wife’s new found freedom through the death of her husband. In comparison to reality, we use tangible items to symbolize intangible things everyday. For example, a white dove is used to symbolize peace. The American Flag is used to symbolize liberty. On a harsher note, your middle finger is used to say; well you know what it’s used to say.

The author indirectness proves to be a plus thus far.Glaspell discusses women’s place in society throughout the play. The men, who hold the distinctive titles of county sheriff and deputy, spend time searching for tangible evidence and using fancy methods to solve the murder but come up with nothing. The women, who I suspect were housewives, solve the case quietly and methodically. The women use their personal knowledge about Minnie Foster to hypothesis reasons why she would have killed her husband. They use the off- centered stitching in the blanket to theorize that she was nervous about something. The women, who did not once set foot on the crime scene, find the dead bird, which is tangible evidence and motive to why she may have killed her husband.

Despite the many great characteristics in the play there is a downfall. The ending of the play leaves you not knowing what happens to Mrs. Wright. While this is a plus for readers who like classic whodunits, it was a definite collapse for me. This is the one time that the author should have been direct with what was going on or at least give a clue of what was about to happen. Ending stories without a definite ending has always been aggravating for me when reading.

Nicholas D. Kristof’s editorial entitled “Casting a Cold Eye on Arctic Oil” provides a credible personification in itself. Written as a first hand account, the author clearly takes a stand regarding the debate about whether or not to drill in the Arctic Wildlife refuge. His main idea asserts that by excavating the land for drilling we would deprive our children of our national inheritance (Kristof A5). Also, the topic is identified as general and theoretical.

The first stage of his argument, conjecture, is that there is an argument to be considered. “The argument I find most compelling is that this primordial wilderness, a part of our national inheritance that is roughly the same as a thousand years ago, would be irretrievably lost if we drilled,” states Kristof (Kristof A5). He acknowledges that both the environmentalists and oil industry have differing opinions on how to use the land in the Arctic wilderness, of which he agrees with the preservation of the land.

Secondly, he defines his argument by expounding on the contrasting arguments of each party. The “coastal plain is a wasteland” and the “impact of the drilling would be a ,000-acre footprint,” contend the drilling supporters (Kristof A5). On the contrary, the author periodically inserts his argument that saving the land will allow us to show our kids the original appearance of America (Kristof A5). Kairos is engaged by the oil drillers when they talk about Daniel Esty’s proposed deal which would just be exploratory drilling, until something is found. This perfect timing is an attempt to appease the environmentalists so that they might give into the argument.

Next, Kristof employs the seriousness of the issue by explaining what the possible outcomes could be. Proposing that we drill there, if it results that there are limited oil reserves then they would have wasted the wilderness for nothing. In addition, drilling would also include excavation of the land far more to exceed the ,000 acres that drilling supporters anticipated. This gross understatement by the oil supporters spurs Kristof to list all the other consequences of the drilling. “It’s also fair to give special weight to the view of the only people who live in the coastal plains,” Kristof asserts (Kristof A5). On the other hand, following the environmentalist approach would anger the local Eskimos who strongly favor the drilling in hopes of acquiring wealth and power. “If environmentalists were so anxious about the Arctic, they should come here and clean up the petroleum that naturally seeps to the surface,” said angry Eskimo Bert Akootchook (Kristof A5). However, by not drilling it is agreed they could be squandering the opportunity to tap into a source so the dependence on foreign oil is eliminated.

Finally, a procedure is offered in attempt to settle this dispute. Kristof affirms that President Bush’s policy to drill in the Arctic refuge is just an endeavor to “lunge for oil” (Kristof A5). As a zealous believer of no drilling in the Arctic refuge, Mr. Kristof decides to let Congress determine the fate of the land.

In conclusion, the author does reach stasis because both parties agree that there is a disagreement on all bases of the argument. A resolution is possible once the decision of Congress is published. I am sure the polar bears won’t mind.

The Internet has became the fastest and easiest way to access, send, and receive information. It’s a worldwide connection of thousands of computer networks all around the world. The history of the Internet and the World Wide Web is very elaborate and detailed as it’s been around for thirty years. In 16, the idea for this massive network of computers came from the threat of a nuclear war. US Government officials were afraid that a centralized network would be easily destroyed and communication would be lost.

In the early 160’s, the USSR launched Sputnik, that was the start of global telecommunications and the Packet-switching (PS) networks. The PS networks split data into tiny groups that made it difficult to track, giving the military more privacy. In response, the United States formed the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARAP) within the Department of Defense to publicize the fact that the US would lead in the science and technology capabilities for their military. ARAP awarded the ARAPNET contract to BBN in 168. BBN selected a minicomputer as a base to build the switch. The network was finished in 16, linking University of California at Los Angeles, SRI, University of California at Santa Barbara, and the University of Utah.

In 17, the ARAP was renamed The Defense Advanced Research Projects Academy (DARPA). This created a research program to investigate methods and technologies for interlinking packet all kinds of networks. The goal was to develop communication protocols which would allow networks to interconnect and communicate with each other. This was called the Internetting Project and the system of networks that surfaced from the research was called the Internet.” In 174, Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn used the term internet in a paper on transmission control protocol. TCP is a set of rules that are used to work the internet protocol that sends data in the form of message between computers over the internet. In the 180’s the creation of BITNET, by IBM, “Because its Time Network”, introduced the “store and forward” network. This network became the program to send an email.

In the early 10’s, the Internet exploded in growth. Everyone you talked to everywhere you heard about the Internet! It was estimated that the number of computers connected to the internet was doubling every year. It was also estimated that at this rate, everyone would have an e-mail address by the year 00. The main cause of this growth was the creation of the World Wide Web.

The Internet was used to read text only. The in the early 10’s, a way to view pictures and sounds emerged from the World Wide Web. The World Wide Web was created at CERN, a physics laboratory in Switzerland. The Web is an interactive system for the posting and retrieval of information through web pages. Today there are many more things to do on the Internet, it has become so vast that a person could spend twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three-hundred sixty-six days a year and you would never see it all.

Day by day the internet grows. As the Internet advances - so does technology. Some people believe that the Internet will crash someday because of the massive amounts of traffic online. Others feel that the internet will be around forever. Only time can tell what the future of the Internet and World Wide Web will be.

As you walk down Broadway on a blistering cold winter day, you can’t help but feel the pain of the homeless people huddling around barrels of fire trying to stay warm. In New York City there are way to many homeless people. You see many people with torn up clothes and signs begging for money. They need the money to survive and buy food, not the extra stuff we take for granted. That’s not fair.

Many people are homeless but it might not be their fault. Some homeless people are lazy and want to be homeless. But the majority of homeless people don’t want to be homeless. Do you think that homeless people like having no home and always being hungry?

Many homeless people are people who have been working all their lives and just can’t keep up with the expensive rent these days. Also, some people just can’t get a job so they have to scavenge around the city to survive. Some are disabled veterans who went to war and when they got back the country they fought for took their homes. When a person can’t physically work shouldn’t our government help support them?

“ Each year, families make up about half the homeless population.” Says National Alliance to End Homelessness.

Many homemakers lost their working husbands and can’t pay the rent so they loose their houses and have to live on the streets. After a couple of weeks they use all of their savings and have to scavenge around for food. You might even see one of the homeless mothers looking for food in a garbage can to feed her baby. That’s not right. It is not her fault that her husband passed away. She should get a break and get a little house to take care of her family in.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture,” 4 million people went hungry in 000-including 1 million children.”

About eighty-five percent of the homeless population doesn’t want to be homeless. The other fifteen percent of the people who don’t want to work deserve to be homeless. Those people don’t work and all they do is ask working people for their money. Many of them can’t get jobs because they are homeless and people see them as dirty and disgusting. They don’t want to have to pay taxes. We have to pay taxes and some of our tax money goes to them. That’s not fair for working people. We work hard for every dollar we get. Is it fair that hard working people need to pay for the homeless people that don’t feel like working but are able to?

Many homeless people don’t go to the homeless shelters because of the conditions. You have to share a very small room with three to four families you don’t even know. You have to line up in the kitchen hours before it opens or there will not be any food left for you. This country needs a better plan for the homeless people so they have more space and they won’t be scared of going to stay at a shelter.

“Every night in the United States, about 750,000 people experience homelessness.” Says National Alliance to End Homelessness.

I believe that every person should go volunteer a couple hours of their time each week and help at a shelter. Just think, if everyone, including you, just pitched in a little to help these poor homeless people, what a difference it would make in their and our world.

To be cool you have to have the right clothes.

To recomended clothes to wear are anything you like really but for girls it has to be something that boys will like such as skirts or skimpy tops. For the boys it has to be jeans and a shirt or trousers and a shirt.

For boys and girls if they are just going out and having fun they can just wear what they want.

Acting cool is also very important. Never be too loud and always let other people talk. Say funny things when neccesary. Dont be too quiet. Never get in a mood.

All actions that are taken by man are part of God’s plan, whether or not they are aware of it. Even ones that are seemingly negative play a role in the carrying out God’s ideas. Throughout the book of Genesis, there are numerous examples of the relationship between man’s actions and God’s intent. Initially negative ones are especially evident in chapters 1-50. An example is the birth of Ishmael to Hagar and Abram. Another instance is the story of Jacob’s deception to his father. A prime example of the relationship is Joseph and his brothers at the end of Genesis.

In Genesis 16, it is discovered that Sarah, wife of Abraham is barren and cannot produce children. As a result, he procreates with Hagar and Ishmael is born. (Genesis 1615) Eventually, Sarah is given the ability to have children and Isaac is born. Sarah insists that Ishmael and Hagar be sent away from their household. Abraham does not want to send him away, but does after he speaks to God. God says Do no be distressed because of the boy and because of your slave woman; whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for it is through Isaac that offspring shall be named for you. As for the son of the slave woman, I will make a nation of him also, because he is your offspring. (Genesis 11-1) Although Sarah may have believed that the Lord wanted to prevent her to have children, this is not the case. Simply, it was necessary for God to initially make Sarah unable to produce offspring. If He had not, Ishmael would not later become the leader of the Muslims. The delaying of Isaac’s birth was just God’s way of ensuring Ishmael’s birth.

A second example of the involvement of the actions of man and God are in Genesis 7. In this chapter, Jacob deceived Isaac by saying he was Esau to become blessed. In return, Esau gets angry that Jacob received his blessing and resolves to kill Jacob. (Genesis 741-45) Because of this, Jacob flees to his uncle, Laban in Haran. Laban, but he still prospers and has twelve children. While returning to Isaac and the promise land, he wrestles an angel and his name changes to Israel. Israel is a patriarch of the Hebrews and his twelve sons become the twelve tribes of Israel. If Jacob had not deceived his father, he would not have had to escape and perhaps not becoming the patriarch of the Hebrews. Although Jacob lied to his father, it was part of God’s plan for him to be driven away from his home and start the lineage of the tribes of Israel.

cheap term papers

Another case of God’s plan can be seen in Genesis 7 through 50. Joseph’s brothers hated him for being Jacob’s favorite. To get rid of him, they sell him into slavery to Midianite traders. Although a slave, Joseph acquires some wealth in Egypt but runs into some problems with the law. Eventually, he rises above these issues and gets reunited with his family. At the end of Jacob’s life, the brothers did not want a grudge held against them by Joseph and so they asked him to forgive their crime. (Genesis 5017) When his brothers plead for forgiveness, Joseph responded by saying “Do not be afraid! Am I in the place of God? Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today.” (Genesis 501-0) This statement encompasses the general theme that goes throughout Genesis. For God’s plan to be completed, the evil that the brothers put onto Joseph had to occur in order for the Israelites to be saved. Again, God’s plan being fulfilled, even after much adversity for Joseph.

Sarah being barren, Jacob tricking Isaac into being blessed and Joseph’s brothers’ hatred toward him are all examples of negative occurrences so that a positive event, like the salvation of an entire race, could happen. Genesis shows many accounts of God’s plan and man’s actions and the theme for the relationship between man and God could still be applied to contemporary times. Who is to say that the current situation in warfare, poverty, or anything at all, is not just another way for God’s goals to be reached? Perhaps the ongoing conflicts in the world today are just ways to facilitate another plan of God.

They eventually developed the sound they have now; moody melodic vocals mixed with a thrashing, heavy music. The original line up included Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abraham Cunningham, and bass player Dominic(Biography. http//sacto.cjb.net). The first Deftones line-up didnt include Chi Cheng. Dominic Garcia was their bass player. However, Abe left after about a year to play in a local band called Phallucy. So, Dominic moved to drums and Chi was recruited as the bassist. Soon though, Dominic left to join Phallucy also. John Taylor, a local musician, filled in on drums, but Abe returned after also doing a stint in a band called Drop Acid and Taylor was ousted(Deftones Facts). After a few jam sessions, Frank Delgado joined in for the ride, and the band has stayed the same ever since. Now with Chino screaming bloody murder, Frank on turntables, Abe bangin out beats, Chi rockin on the bass, and Stef ripping on the guitar; nothing can stop the Deftones from topping the charts.

According to Chino, this is how the Deftones began While we started out, I think Abe and I were about 16. We had been friends for years, even since Junior High School. And I had known Stephen also since I was 11-1 years old. But I knew Stephen from my neighborhood. And Abe from my school. I introduced him to Stephen. One day We took the Bus over there to his House. And he had a bunch of equipment in his Garage And they started playing together. It must have been maybe like three months later, I was talking to Abe at School, and he said, and Stephen wanted me to come down and try so sing. Just because we used to hang out. I didnt know how to sing or anything, but it was, just You know, maybe I was interested to try it, what ever. So I went. And it was pretty terrible in the beginning, but it was cool. We were all friends, trying to have a good time. I mean, we always had a good time doing it. Then probably about 6 months later, we got Chi in the band. And kind of started making songs. And everything was going pretty good( Deftones . Biography).

Now with a line-up in play, the Deftones just needed to find a sound, or did they? According to Chi the bass guitarist,Weve never talked about it, about finding a Deftones sound. We dont want to find a certain sound, and settling on a certain sound is not a good thing. I think thats why our albums keep progressing, because were going with what we feel is right at that moment, not what we think were supposed to do(Biography. http//www.thedeftones.com/bio.shtml). The Sacramento based band has built a massive reputation since the release of their first album Adrenaline in 16 of being an aggressive “new” metal band( Deftones . Biography). However, their style has shifted steadily from riff-based thrasher type songs to more melodic songs that find themselves being aggressive and strangely tender at the same time. This blend is very appealing, and very listener oriented.

The Deftones first explosive album, Adrenaline, as seen in the picture above, came on the scene in 5 and started an underground rumbling that reached its peak with the successful release of Around The Fur two years later. Adrenaline included a large number of notable, yet unrecognized tracks including 7 words. For the recording of 7 Words, Chino built a cave out of Styrofoam and fit it around the microphone so his screams had an echoed distortion to them(-DEFTONES FACTS-). Off of this album, the band recorded videos for 7 words and Bored. The video for Bored was shot inside Chinos home and includes all of his friends, as well as all the local bands jamming out to the Deftones performing(-DEFTONES FACTS-). Many wonder what the object on the cover of the Adrenaline album is. It is called an Aspirator and is used to suck out mucous from new born babies lungs and nostrils(-DEFTONES FACTS-).Producer Terry Date produces and captures the dynamics of the band in the studio without quelling the raw energy behind it, recording much of Adrenaline live(Biography. http//www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/680/biog.htm).

Following up in good taste, The Deftones unleashed their second album Around The Fur. The album, pictured above, debuted at number two on the billboard chart, and remained in the top ten for 15 weeks( Deftones . Biography). This grand slam made The Deftones an undeniable force driving the nu-metal genre. Along with Tool and Will Haven, the triple threat as I like to call them, The Deftones are quickly becoming a quick favorite in a lot of youths minds. On this Album, hits such as Feiticeira, My Own Summer, Be Quiet And Drive, and Headup, drive the album to a level past superstardom. According to Chino, The song Feiticeira is about a game show I read about in Brazil. If you win, you get to drink milk from the hosts navel. Somehow it evolved into a pretend scenario about being kidnapped(Biography. http//www.thedeftones.com/bio.shtml. 00 thedeftones.com). A notable track on the album called Headup is about the murder of Dana Wells, Chinos best friend, and how he never got to say bye to his boy. Its also a self confidence song and lashs out at the murderers of Dana(Deftones Discography). As well as a tribute, A very influential rock group named Soulfly gained their name from the breakdown section of Headup, in which Chino screams it repeatedly(-DEFTONES FACTS-). As for videos, The Deftones recorded, Be Quiet and Drive and My Own Summer. A video for the track Around The Fur was made but never released as it is supposed to be quite graphic, with nudity and loads of dark imagery(-DEFTONES FACTS-).

I see boundaries more clearly now than I used to. Im better at toying with people cerebrally than I was a few years ago. Im better at screwing with your head. - Chino Moreno(BIOGRAPHY (official)). After their second album, The Deftones went on tour with Orange mm and Downset, they had a skate area set up for them, but the person who used it most was Chino(-DEFTONES FACTS-). Skating is a very big part of The Deftones lives. Every single member is, or has at one time been a skater(-DEFTONES FACTS-). Because of this reason, a lot of young kids that look up to pro skaters like Tony Hawk also look up to The Deftones seeing that they have the same tastes and interests.

“A lot of inspiration comes from family and friends,” says Chi(Biography. http//sacto.cjb.net) The Deftones are very family oriented and have seem to show a lot of love toward human compassion and a higher power. Chino sees inspiration as a great thing, everyone needs a little, “I get letters from kids talking about how a certain song affected them or comforted them. Their idea of what it means is completely different from what I was feeling, but I would never tell them that. If something affects you at all, its good”(-DEFTONES FACTS-).

ʏ

Pictured above is the third album to be released by The Deftones. Entitled “White Pony,” it has gotten the most attention, based on there previous fame. The mood on this album is a step in a different direction as compared to the last two. White Pony is very dark and poetic. Lyrics that have a resemblance to ramblings, placed on heavy drowning guitar beats make this album a winner, but in a gothic way. Tool front man Maynard James Keenan co-wrote and volleys vocals with Chino on “Passenger”(Deftones Discography). The track is about being the passenger in a car with a girl who is taking you around the world, literally, sexually, in a whirlwind of time(Deftones Discography). I can barely tell where I end and Maynard begins, says Chino about the end result of the song(Biography. http//www.thedeftones.com/bio.shtml). About the poetic nature of the songs, Chi says, ”Whats good about listening to a song and knowing exactly -- to the word -- what the singer is talking about? Its like a good painting or a good book. I never ask Chino what something means, I want to know what it means to me”(Biography. http//www.thedeftones.com/bio.shtml)

The Deftones are expanding. “I think that one of the best things we have going for us is our dynamics. Theres never too much of anything. Its not like theres a real heavy song and then a real soft song. Each of our songs contain many different levels,” says front man Chino Moreno(BIOGRAPHY (official)). Aside from The Deftones, members of the band are branching off and doing their own thing. Deftones side projects include Team Sleep, Phallucy, and the Kush Project(Deftones Side Projects). Team Sleep is Chino’s project but he incorporates all of his team mates into at least one of his songs, such as Abe playing percussion on a track called “Tired.” The core of Team Sleep is Chino Moreno, DJ Crook, and Chinos childhood friend, guitarist Todd Wilkenson (Deftones Side Projects). Phallucy is a group focused around Abe, the drummer, and Kush project is based off of Stef, the guitar player(Deftones Side Projects). Both bands incorporate others into their bands though.

The Deftones are on the march, and nothing can stop them now. On tour they can light up the stage and in the studio they produce hits. There sound is nothing short of a complete aural rush. Better check your pulse.

Silence had captured the room full of audience as I approached the stage. It was the first time I had to speak in front of thousands of people coming from different backgrounds. Friends and family members cheered my name as i pulled out the piece of paper from my folder---the paper in which I had exrpressed all my talent, the paper in which I had written my very first poem. Nervousness gripped every nerve inside my body, and I closed my eyes to think about the moments I had spent prior to this special moment.

It was only a couple of months ago when I went on the internet to pass some time. I had come across a site in which a poetry contest was being advertised. I signed up to enter in this poetry contest, not knowing what luck would bring me.

During those days, things ewre not going too well for me. I had lost my job, and found myself heartbroken and over burdened by college expenses. Anywhere I looked, I saw more expenses. I registered myself for this poetry contest, hoping I would win and put an end to all my financial worries. One day as I was coming back from college, I saw a stack of papers on my bed. I approached them to find the most shocking news of my life! I had been invited to join thousands of other poets from all over the world to share my poem.

I suddenly opened my eyes and found myself lost amongst the thousands of people waiting to hear the first words come out of my mouth. Gradually, I spoke the very first words of my poem. Afterwards, many other contestants came up on stage, and finally the judges got on to announce the winner. To my surprise he announced my name! I had won the poetry contest

Colonists and Americans

From the end of the French and Indian War, there was a sense of unity brewing among the colonies. The colonies had to unite in order to overcome a common foe as expressed in the Albany Plan of Union that called a combined effort of defense throughout the colonies. However, even after the French and Indian War the colonies united once again to face an opponent that could not physically be shot down (A). The tremendous hole that was left in the pocketbooks of Britain’s be treasury because of the French and Indian wars as well as previous wars caused a change in the economic policy for the colonies in the form of taxing and the enforcement of pre-existing laws. The collective taxing once again pitted the colonists against a common enemy. By the eve of the Revolution, the colonies knew what they were doing, and had defined their identity as no longer British or Englishmen but as Americans. Even by 1750, the colonists were already a distinct breed of people. Most were of mixed European background. Whether the colonists defined themselves as Americans at this point does not matter. They were a separate type of people who could be found in no other country (H). Yet, this alone would not be strong enough to define them as Americans just yet. The French and Indian War, though, was a major point in colonial unity. After the French and Indian War, colonists began to think of themselves as Americans rather than British or English. The heavy debt caused by the French and Indian War and other wars left the British only one option to tax the colonies. (STAMP & SUGAR ACTS) To defeat this, the colonies had to unite, for one colony or one town acting alone would have little or no effect and would result only in defeat and even harsher regulations. After the Stamp act was repealed, the colonies fully realized that their only chance of withstanding British attempts to tax them was to come together. Despite the collective boycotts of all colonies on British goods, the first real test of the colonial unity came when the Townshend Acts were declared. In addition to placing new taxes on tea, glass and paper, it also issued writs of assistance (general licenses to search property). More importantly, however, was the suspension of New York’s assembly for colonial defiance of the Quartering acts. The colonies did not protest the taxes under the Townshend program because they were indirect taxes paid by merchants, but they did stand up for the closing of the colonial assembly of New York. The suspension of the colonial assembly of New York had no direct influence on the other colonies, but they showed their unity by still rising up against the Townshend program. Parliament itself was beginning to realize the differences between England and the colonies. Edmund Burke realized that America hardly resembled the towns of England, and that the nature of the colonies forbade them from being blended into the empire of England (B). England could not let the colonies go after they had fought so many wars to gain them, and they could not just not tax them, thus, making revolution inevitable, but not yet fully seen by both sides. The eve of the revolution marked a distinct integration of the colonies. All North America was now firmly united to “defend their liberties against every power on Earth that may attempt to take them away” (C). Those in the colonies were either for the colonies’ actions, or against it. They were united together as patriots or loyalists (D). The patriots were willing to become self-sufficient. They were willing to donate large amounts of food and goods to other colonies (G). Before the fighting broke out at Lexington and Concord on May 1th, 1775, the colonies were indeed ready to become a self-sufficient body. They had defined themselves as Americans. While they may have been somewhat apprehensive (E) about the conflicts at first, they quickly began to thrust full steam at the British threat. Before the eve of revolution, the colonies had already begun to assert themselves as Americans and define their unity.

Tolerance, Self¡VIdentity, and Class Room Practices

The national education policy is a blueprint to foster inter-racial harmony and tolerance. The assumption is that if we can instil these values in the hearts and minds of the younger generation (most of whom are in the schools) than we can build a future society that will not self-destruct due to narrow self interest and prejudices. Once again, this responsibility is put on the shoulders of teachers. Instead of viewing it as an unwanted burden, teachers should feel honoured that the nation has categorically put the trust of ensuring the future of the country in their hands. This is indeed a powerful position to be in. The question is are teachers aware of this?

Although, tolerance and racial harmony should be inculcated from the very beginning of schooling, it actually becomes a serious issue only at the secondary level. At the primary level, children are just children. They play, fight and get back together. They seldom hold grudges. Their animosity, if one exists, does not last for long and unless consciously taught by irresponsible adults, they do not habour racial prejudices.

However, at the secondary level, students become more aware of their identity. Erik Erikson, the famous psychologist, said that we create our self identity at the adolescence stage. This is the time when one’s racial, cultural and linguistic identity becomes important in ones life. Adolescents like to think of themselves and everything associated with them as unique and superior compared to others. They find it difficult to accept the fact that other races and cultures too have their own uniqueness and claims of greatness. Hence, it is very easy for adolescents to withdraw into a false sense of racial/cultural exclusiveness because for them this is the only way to preserve their identity. This problem will take on a nasty dimension when undesirable elements from the society at large gain excess to their minds and hearts. The end result of this is we will have to deal with adolescents who are self centred, bigots and over zealous in exhibiting their racial and cultural identity.

What can teachers do to enhance the development of students?positive self identity and at the same time instil tolerance and understanding among them ? First, teachers themselves must have developed a stable and healthy self identity. Many adults do not grow out of their adolescence ways and they carry this psychological baggage all through their lives. Second, teachers must not pretend that racial and cultural differences do not exists or that they are not important. In a multi racial classroom, teachers should talk about these differences. For example, they can discuss the taboos relating to food and drinks among the various races and the social and religious reasons behind it. They can discuss the major precepts of the various religions in this country. Even the so called controversial ones. The important thing is how it is discussed not what is being discussed. Third, teaching tolerance and building a healthy self identity must be viewed as a conscious effort. It does not take place automatically even in the most supportive environment. Fourth, teachers must ensure that students of various racial and cultural background feel that they are being treated fairly and equally. Nothing is more heart breaking than to hear students complaining of being sidelined due to their race or religion.

The classroom may become the battleground or the playground of our future generation. Teachers have the power to make that choice.

Edward I. Koch reviews in Death and Justice a variety of excuses to abolish the death penalty. He argues the importance of the death penalty as well as, argues excuses of the death penalty opponents. He argues ethical and political reasoning to the importance and support of the death penalty. In his question “did their (death row convicts opposed to the death penalty) newfound reverence for life stem from the realization that they were about to lose their own?” provided a thoughtful wrenching opportunity for the reader. The question permitted thought and a powerful counter argument to the convict’s defensive objection to the death penalty. Koch’s question defended the death penalty by merle questioning the intent of convict’s argument of ending the death penalty. The question implied that the intent of the convicts were only to save their lives with total disregard to their victims.

In Koch’s writings he is also able to dispel even the arguments of Mr. Adam Bedau “one of the most implacable foes of capital punishment in this country.” He informs his readers that even “the most implacable foes of capital punishment” has a debatable argument. Mr. Bedau argues that the death penalty should be abolished due to the possibility that an innocent person might be sentenced to death. Koch rebuts with an argument of a minor factorial possibility of sentencing an innocent person to death. “He sites a study of the 7,000 executions in the country from 18 to 171, and concludes that the record fails to show that such cases occur. “ Koch also retaliates with stating “if government functioned only when the possibility of error didn’t exist, government wouldn’t function at all.”

In an opposing essay, Execution by Anna Quindlen, her opposing stance is hypocritical, yet has the same outcome as her counterparts, to end the death penalty. She takes a position of morale, that the death penalty will not give those mourning the murder of their loved one the gratification that they are seeking. Hypocritical, she states an opposition to the death penalty, she stated that she would want to kill a person that harmed one of her children. Further, she states that the government does not rightful permit an emotional penalty for parents of murdered children to take matters in their own hands, which is the gratification they are searching for. She concluded with the issue that the death penalty would not give the “eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” ending that loved one are looking for, so there for abolishing the penalty.

Mr. Koch’s defensive and criticizing approach to the opponents of the death penalty is more aggressive than Ms. Quindlen’s passive approach. In Mr. Koch essay he individual states his opponent’s positions and then rebuts the arguments with statistics and personal experience.

Dennis and Andrew Smith have a special relationship in addition to their father/son relationship. They create masterpieces together. Dennis began as a sculptor generally crafting structures that resembled flying machines. His work focuses on the poetry of life. He has said, “Your art is a poetic expression of your anxiety or ecstasy.” Andrew’s many abilities with moving parts have enabled the structures to “come to life”; he adds the kinetics. “I like to incorporate moving elements into my sculptures, something that will draw people in and wonder how it works” (1). They sometimes work alone, and they sometimes combine their styles to generate a new style of assemblage art.

The art piece entitled “Portal” was the center-piece of the Poetic Kinetics exhibit. It, therefore, caught my attention from the very beginning. The piece was created using what most of us would label “trash”. Cranes, chains, metal tracks, and balls were all colored brightly to create an effect of being transported to a new place. It reached the desired effect. I was in awe as I followed the path of the balls by walking around and under the assemblage. Everyone who viewed this piece had the opportunity of gleaning something from it. The continual movement and the large variety of objects, I believe, enabled all viewers to receive the piece on a personal level. Everyone from small children to adults could feel an interaction with certain elements. As I attended the exhibit, I observed an elderly couple watching “Portal” with incredible interest. The woman continually pointed to the balls and said “Look.” The man simply sat quietly and smiled. The real essence of “Portal” is its ability to appeal to all audiences.

In addition to the entertainment value of “Portal”, the art captured Dennis Smith’s idea of poetry in art. There seemed to be a story involved somehow in the piece the story of childhood. The artists portrayed their expressions of the playfulness of life and the journey that we all took growing up. They captured the essence of what it means to be a kid tumbling around through life’s situations and having fun doing it.

My imagination and creative right brain were both satisfied while viewing this exhibit. I must admit that at my first view of the room containing “Poetic Kinetics” I was rather cynical; all I saw was junk. However, after just a few minutes of looking around, I decided that this junk was rather “cool”. Although “Portal” was my favorite piece, I also enjoyed some of the flying machines. I was enchanted by the bright colored objects. “Portal” contained a yellow typewriter. This object really interested me because it seemed so out of place despite the fact that all the objects were random. Some objects seemed to fit more than others. The bells, for example, seemed to fit perfectly. They added noise to the contraptions when the balls came blundering by. Clothespins added more noise. The various sounds present really made me feel as if I was participating in the art instead of just viewing.

cheap term papers

Perhaps even greater than my enjoyment of the color and sound, was my love for the movement. This element was the real trigger to my fascination. I laughed with delight as I saw a ball that seemed to be flying aimlessly through the air, land directly back onto the track and continue its course. Every once in a while I would lose the trail of a certain ball while trying to watch two or three balls at once. I felt a sort of relief when I found “my” ball again. I found myself walking underneath and around “Portal” trying to find exactly how the machine worked, thus fulfilling the artist’s desired effect. The variety of color, noise, poetry, and kinetics combined to form an assemblage that transported the observer to a world of playfulness and childhood.

I lived in Texas for five year and completed pre-school, kindergarten and was headed into first grade until my father told us that he had lost his job and we were forced to move. He was able to find a job in California however it did not last very long. After two years working his company went out of business, and another move was forth coming. That is when the difficult times began. My brother was away at private school and my mother was the only with a job and she was the one supporting the family. The neighborhood we were living in was not that great. There was some gang activity, and at that time in California there was riots and earthquakes. I could remember one experience I had with an earthquake my mother, father and I were watching T.V. when looked over at our mirror and I saw it to begin to shake heavily and me and my parents ran under a table and waited until the earthquake was finished. Thankfully no one got hurt and nothing was damaged.

School in California was good for me and I enjoyed it. I was able 1st grade through 4th grade. That were I picked one of my favorite hobbies which is basketball. Lebanon, which used to be called “Switzerland of the East”, was devastated by a civil war which started on April 1, 175 and lasted for 16 years and 7 months. The impacts of this war are still present until these days.

In my paper, I’ll show that, in addition to Lebanese groups which were involved in the war, there were some external forces which played a major role in the Lebanese civil war. Every foreign group involved, had an agenda the Palestinians, Syrians and Israelis, not to mention the Americans whose troops were also sent in.

Before I start my proof, I would like to give a brief history of Lebanon prior to the civil war. Lebanon, which is multi-religious country, is mainly composed of Muslims and Christians. It’s one of the Arab countries, if not the only one, that has a relatively percentage of Christian population. It’s also considered to be the country of all Arabs where they could meet freely to exchange services and ideas, and communicate with the western world . However, the lack of national integrity, that most of the developing countries suffer from, including Lebanon, has cost this small country a huge price.

In 14, and after the end of French Mandate on Lebanon, the foundations of the state were set out in a National Covenant, which distributed the seats in the Chamber of Deputies on a ratio of 6 to 5 (6 for Christians and 5 for the Muslims). The Lebanese President is to be a Maronite Christian, the Prime Minister a Sunni Muslim, and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies a Shiite Muslim. The distribution of seats was based on the 1 census which had shown that Christians were 54% of the total population .

However, by the early 170s, the religious distribution had shifted. The Christians now made up only 8% of the population; and the combined Sunni-Shiite-Druze population had shot up to 6% . This in fact, pushed Muslims to demand reforms; the Maronites wouldn’t accept. Since then, private religious armies started to emerge .

At the same time, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) troops, got forced out of Jordan, so they decided to head for Lebanon where Palestinian refugees were living in many camps, after the 148 and 167 Arab-Israeli wars .

By the mid 170s, the Palestinians had established a state within a state. The PLO mainly settled in west Beirut, the Lebanese capital, and in the south where they launched attacks and got engaged in a guerrilla war against the Israelis. The Palestinians weren’t just regular refugees or fighters. They acted in Lebanon if they own it, which made the Christian militias angry and frustrated at the same time .

On April 1, 175, Lebanese Christian Phalangist gunmen ambushed a bus in the suburb of Beirut, killing 7 of its mainly Palestinian passengers. The Phalangists claimed that Palestinians attacked a church in the same area few days before. This incident triggered heavy fighting between the Phalangists and Palestinian militants which later, evolved into a full scale war . So, when the civil war started, all the regions injustices, hatreds, tensions, and weaknesses had found a home in this fragile, fractious state, with its delicate Christian-Muslim balance, its weak central government and its impotent military.

In 176, the Syrian involvement in the war became clear, after the Syrian army joined the battlefield. Syria moved in at the invitation of the Christian Maronites to restore peace and also to curb the Palestinians .

Countries, which supported the Palestinians, were concerned about the Syrian intervention. For instance, Iraq, with its rival Ba’th ruling party, exploited this action to accuse Syria of betraying the Palestinian cause and cooperating with Israel .

The reasons for Syria’s involvement in Lebanon weren’t just to restore peace and stop the Palestinians. Syria, by its military intervention, was trying to prevent any side in the war from prevailing. Syria didn’t want Lebanon to fall under the control of groups and factions that might drag it into an undesired confrontation, and probably a full scale war with Israel . In addition to that, Iraqi Ba’thists, who opposed the Syrian version of Ba’thism, became active in Lebanon as early as the 160s. The breakout of the civil war, made the pro-Syrian Ba’thists in Lebanon weaker. It was necessary for Syrians to move in, in order to halt the activities of Iraqi Ba’thists, and restore the power to the pro-Syrian Ba’thists . On top of that, Syria considers Lebanon a major area of influence and a part of natural Syria that was detached from it by the colonial powers (France and Britain) .

At the same time, Palestinian militants staging raids on Israel from Lebanese territory drew punitive Israeli raids on Lebanon and a large scale Israeli invasion in 178. Israel’s target was those Palestinian militants using the south to launch their rockets and raids against Israeli soldiers and civilians. The Israelis rolled in, pushed the Palestinians back, and after few months withdrew their troop after training, equipping and financing their own surrogate army of Christian militiamen .

Israel’s involvement in Lebanon wasn’t motivated mainly by the presence of Palestinian militants in Southern Lebanon, but also by the volume of Lebanon’s water resources (Litany River) and Syrias presence on the Lebanese soil, which could harm Israel’s interests in Lebanon .

The Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 178 didn’t stop Palestinian guerrillas from attacking Israel. This led to a second invasion of Lebanon by Israel in 18. This time Israel went all the way up to the capital of Lebanon, Beirut. The invasion forced the PLO out of Lebanon. At this point, the main role of Palestinians in Lebanon was over .

Then, the assassination of the newly-elected Christian president, Bashir Gemayel in 18 - who was the head of Phalangists (Israel’s main ally in Lebanon) - pushed Israeli forces to occupy West Beirut. Few days later, the Phalangists revenged, by murdering Palestinians in the refugee camps of Shabra and Shatila in West Beirut.

The massacre of Palestinians in the refugee camps, prompted the United Nation, to send a multinational peacekeeping force to Lebanon . This force was mainly composed of Americans, French and Italians. Its main role was to support the central Lebanese government and to restore peace in Lebanon. This multinational force didn’t stay long enough. It left Lebanon in the spring of 18, after 60 U.S. Marines and about 60 French soldiers were killed in suicide bomb attacks by Hezbollah, a pro-Iranian Shiite group .

Like Syria, the role of western countries in Lebanon wasn’t just to restore peace. For instance, the U.S. wanted to have the Shiites in Lebanon under control so their anti-Western fervor can be contained. A domination of Hezbollah guerillas in Lebanon for instance, might lead in future, to the creation of an Iran-like state on Lebanese soil, which implies more threat to U.S. interests in the region. In addition to that, U.S. wanted Syrian troops to get out of Lebanon, so it can bolster a Lebanese government sympathetic to Israel .

The withdrawal of most of Israeli troops from in Lebanon in 185, didn’t affect Israel’s involvement in the Lebanese war due to the following factors

1. Israel maintained its political and military contacts with Christian parties

. “Its policy of dialogue and deterrence vis-à-vis Syria”

. The creation of a security zone in Southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army kept a plastered occupation from 185 onwards .

In 18, The Lebanese National Assembly, met in Taif, Saudi Arabia, to find a solution to the Lebanese problem. It endorsed a Charter of National Reconciliation, which gave the Christians and the Muslims an equal number of seats in the National Assembly instead of the previous six to five ratio. The Lebanese civil war officially ended in 11 .

In conclusion, it’s clear that the causes of the Lebanese civil war aren’t purely internal in their origins. Foreign forces have played a major role in the conflict. Palestinian militants were directly involved in the incident, that triggered the war. They also, used Lebanon as a base to launch their attacks on Israel. Israel’s involvement was, by their political and military support for the Christian militants, by their invasions of Lebanon in 178 and 18. Syria played a key role in the civil war. Syrian troops moved into Lebanon at the beginning of the war in order to restore peace, put an end to the Palestinians’ actions, and to halt the activities of Iraqi Ba’thists. The U.S. got indirectly involved in Lebanon. Its involvement was by supporting Israel’s backing of Christian militants, in order to minimize the possibly of a creation of a fundamentalist Islamic state in Lebanon, similar to the one in Iran. Regardless of who was involved, the result of this civil war was tragic The destruction of a beautiful little country.

The human heart is the organ most needed for life. The heart is defined/recoginized

as a muscular,pear-shaped organ slightly larger than a clenched fist, which is located

in the center of the circulatory system. The heart has the hardest job which is pumping

blood throughout the whole human body.It pumps blood at a rate of more than 4

quarts a minute and weigh around 8-1 ounces, this organ beats at a rate of 7 times

a minute (on an average). The heart is one of the most amazing organs!

The heart is a very strong muscle. It consists of several layers of tough

muscular wall, called the myocardium. The outside is covered by a thin tissue called

the pericardium and the inside is linded with a layer called the endocardium. The

heart is divided in the middle to make the right and the left heart, which in turn are

subdivided into chambers. The auricle, is the upper chamber and the ventricl is the

lower chamber. The auricles recieve blood for entering the heart; the ventricles pump

the blood out.The circulated blood enter the heart through the right auricl, passes

through th tircuspid valve into the right ventricle below, then it is pumped through

the pulmonary artery to the lungs for oxygenation.Stimulataneously, the oxygenated

blood is pumoed through the left auricle, flows through the bicuspid or mitral, valve

into the left ventricl and then is pumped into the aorta and out to the arteries of the

body. The hearts valves allow the blood to flow in one direction only and help

maintain the pressure required to pump the blood throughout the whole body. The

heartbeat or otherwise known as pumping of the heart is caused by a;ternating

contractions and relaxations of the myocardium. The contractions are stimulated by

electrical impulses the sinoatrial, or S-A, node located in the muscle or the right

auricle. An impuls from this node causes the auricles to contract, which then forces

blood into the ventricles. The atrioventricular controls the impulses the cause the

ventricles to contract, which is located in the junction of the ventricles. This whole

process is called the cardiac cycle. The relaxation period is called diastole and the

period of contraction is called systole. Diastole is the loger of the phases so that the

heart can rest between contractions. The rate or triggering the S-a impulses is

regulated by the autonomic nervous system (ANS). This system is involuntary which

means we don’t have to think about it in order fo that to happen. The heart beat

slows or accelerates in respons to physical activity. Theart can be heard through a

device called a stethoscope, when placed against the chest a healthy heart will make a

“lub-dub.......lub-dub” kind of sound. The “lub” is caused by the closing of the valves

between th auricles and the ventricles. The “dub” is caused by the closing of the

valves of the arteriesleadind out of the heart. Heart murmurs may be easily heard by

a physician as a soft shiwshin or hissing sound. Murmurs may indicate that blood is

leaking through an imperfectly closed valve and may signal a serous heart problem.

Theree are main types of blood vessels arteties, capillaries, and veins.

Arteries begin in the aorta , the large artery leaving the heart. Arteries can carry

oxygen-riched blood away fom the heart to all the body’s tissues. They branch several

times becoming smaller as the carry blood further away from the heart. Capillaries

are small, thin blood vessels that connect the arteries and the veins. Their thin walls

allow oxygen, nutrients , carbod dioxide and waste products to pass to and from the

tissue cells. Veins are blood vessels that take oxygen poor blood back to the heart.

Veins become larger as the become closer to the heart. The superior vena cava is the

large vein that brings blood from the head and arms to the heart , the inferior vena

cava brings blood from the abdomen and the legs to the heart. This vast system of

vessels is over 60,000 miles long, which is enough to go around the world times!

There are many disorder to the heart. the main one is a heart attack. The

definition of a heart attack is a disorder in which damage to an area of heart muscle

occure because of an inadequate supply of oxygen to that area.Causes include clot

formation or spasm in one of the arteries that supply the heart muscle (a coronary

artery). This and other similar conditions block the supply of oxygen to an area of the

heart, whic leads to damage or death of cells in that particular area. Most often this

occurs in a coronary artery that has been narrowed from changes related to

atherosclerosis (which I will explain later). The damaged tissue resuts in a

permanenet loss of contraction in that portion of the heart muscle. Risk factors that

lead to a heart attack are somking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, high fat diet, high

blood cholesterol levels, obesity, male gender, age over 65,and heredity. A personal

or famile history of coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral

vascular disease, angina, or kidney failure may indicate increased factors leading to a

heart attack. Occasionally an overwhelming amount of stress can lead to a heart

attack. In older older people straining to have a bowel movement can be a risk factor.

The cardinal symptom to a heart attack is chest pain, but in some cases when you are

older or a diabetic chest pain may not be present. Other sympoms may include

weakness, shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting. Heart attacks occur in

approximately every 0 out of 1,000 people per year, which is a major cause to

sudden death in adults. Symptoms include chest pain below the sternum, back pain,

abdominal pain which may radiate to the chest, arms, shoulder, to the neck, teetch,

jaw,and to the back this pain is prolonged for more than 0 minutes which is relieved

by rest or nitroglycerin, shortness of breath which may or may not be occumpanied

by pain, sough, lightheadedness - dizzyness, fainting, nausea, vomiting, sweating dry

mouth, feeling of “impending doom” , anxiety, seizures, fatigue, blood pressure low,

and unusual or strange behavior. The following tests are performed to see what

damage was done coronary anginography, nuclear ventricularography,

echocardiography, treadmill, LDH, LDH isoenzymes, CPK, CPK isoenzymes,

adolase, apolipoprotein B100, apolipoprotein Cll, AST, BUN, chem-0, cholesterol

test, heart MRI, lipids serum , myoglobin serum, and myoglobin urine. Treament for

the attack is very detailed. Hospitilazation is usualy required for a period of 1 to 14

days. Treatment may include the need for intensive care and may involve emergency

surgery. ECG monitorin is begun immedately because the life threating

dysrhymthmias are the leading cause of death in the first few hours after a heart

attack. The goal of treatment is to decrease the demands of the heart so that it can

heal. Activitymay be restricted initally, then gradually increased. An intravenous

catheter will be inserted to administer emergency medications and fluids. Additional

invasive monitering devices may be used based on over all status. An urinary catheter

may be inserted to monitor fluid status. Oxygen is usuall given if blood oxygen levels

are normal. This makes the oxygen readily available to the tissues and the body o

reduce the workload of the heart. A diet may be or not be restricted according to

weight of the person. If a diet is resticted low salt intake, no caffine and low fat diet

are ofter issued. There are a few medications to help with a heart attack. Morphine is

the analgesic most often given for pain. Nitrates such as nitroglycerin are given for

pain to reduce the oxygen requirements of the heart. Beta - blockers (metoprolol and

atenolol) reduce the workload of the heart. Digitalis improves the heart’s pumping

action. Calcium channel blockers reduce oxygen requirements in the heart muscle.

Anti-arrhythmics and diuretics may also be perscribed. Some therapy may include

Thrombolytic (clot-dissolving) therapy. This is usually initiated within 6 hours of the

chest pain. Initial therapy consists IV infusion of thrombloytic medication

immedately followed by n IV infusion or heparin. Heparin therapy will last for 48 to

7 hours. Oral aspirin and warfarin may be prescribed to prevent further

developments of clots.Possible complications of thrombolytic include bleeding and

hemorrhage. Surgical interventions may be necessary. Emergency angioplasty may

be required to open blocked coronary arteries. Emergency coronary artery bypass

(CABG) may be required. The expected outcome varies with the location of the

damaged tissue. Damage to the electrical conduction system (yhe impulses that guide

heart contraction) worsens the outcome, Approximately 1/ cases are fatal. If the

victim is alive after hours of the attack the chance for survival is good, but may

include complications. Heart attacks are not necessarily disabling and the person

usually can gradually resume a normal lifestyle. There are some complications

though arrhythmias such as ventrical tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation , heart

blocks, congestive heart failure, extension of the amount of affected heart tissue, and

pericarditis. Control cardiac risk factor whenever possible. Control blood pressure

and total cholesterol levels, reduce or avoid smoking, modify diet (increase high

density lipoproteins and decrease low density lipoproteins) if necessary, conrtol

diabetes, and lose weight if obese. Follow an exercise program to improve

cardiovascular fitness.

Arteriosclerosis commonly called hardening of the arteries includeds a variety

of conditions in which artery walls thicken and lose elasticity. Heredity seems to play

a role in the development of the disease, and there is evidence that a high cholesterol

level in the blood can lead to this disease.

Hypertension is the force of the blood being pumped through the arteries

exerts pressure on the arterial walls. When this pressure is too high it is an unhealthy

pressure. If left untreated it overworks the heart and can lead to heart attack, storke,

kidney disease, of other ilnesses.

Rheumatic fever causes inflammation of the body tissues, joints ,and heart,

All heart tissues can be affected, but the heatr’s valves are most often damaged.

Antibiotics can lessen the adverse effects of rheumatic fever and prevent serious heart

damage.

Bacterial endocarditis is a bacterial infection of the inner lining of the heart

muscle. More than half of the incidents of bacterial endocarditis are a result of

rheumatic fever.

Congential heart disease is heart disease present at birth. It ranges from minor

heart murmurs that require no treatment to fatal structural defects.

In a normal healthy heart the muscle contract and relax in an orderly manner,

buth this rhythmic pulsing can be disturbed. Ventricular fibrillation rapid,

uncordinated contactions of the heart is on of the most serious disturbances of the

heart, this can lead to arrest or death. Other ryhthmic disorders include auricular

fibrillation and flutter, tachycardia, and bradycardia.

Congetive heart failure occurs when encouragement of the veins prevents the

heart muscle from being able to pump forcefully enough to deliver an adequate

supply of blood to the body. It can be caused by disease of either the heart muscle or

the valves.

The heart is the bodies way to survive. Without the heart in perfect working

conditon a person will always not function right. The heart needs plent of exercise to

stay fit so it will have a lesser chance of having a defect in life. Everyone must realize

that how important it is to have a very balanced diet and to follow routines to

exercise the heart daily. Routine checkups should be followed to see how everything

is going, as you get older you should go more frequently
