For many people this would be a dream come true, but not in the case of James Gats, or better yet Jay Gatsby. In the novel The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsbys real dream is to be with his beloved Daisy. She is the whole reason for his existence, he is deadly obsessed over Daisy. There is a twist to the story though, Daisy has a life already going, she is married and has a child with her husband Tom. In the novel Daisy is always wearing white or is related to white representing innocence or purity. His heart beat faster and faster as Daisys white face came up to his own (Fitzgerald,117). Once again this quote shows that Gatsby believes that Daisy is innocent or pure when in reality she is immoral.

Gatsby is driven to accomplish his dream aswell as to live in the past, where at one point Daisy corresponded to him. I wouldnt ask too much of her, I ventured.
