Hmm... I really dont want to submit an essay. Submitting an essay takes too much time. Besides, you really wouldnt want one of my essays. I dont write about anything interesting. Heres something I wrote in sixth grade.

The food pyramid consists of six groups bread and grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, meats, and extras. The food pyramid was introduced in 1 by the United States Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services. Everything that the human body needs (not including oxygen and sunlight, etc.) comes from the food that we eat. There isn't any one food that provides all of the nutrients that your body needs to grow, be healthy, and energetic. So you must eat a diet that has a variety of foods. Everything that we eat provides energy for building cells and replacing cells that make up our bodies and provide us with energy. There are around twenty important known minerals, vitamins, and hormones that the body needs for a healthy diet. There are two groups of minerals trace minerals, and those found in larger amounts in the body. Minerals help build cells, bones, and can help the nervous system. They also help the body make use of other materials. A few it can store, but many must be constantly replenished.

The dairy group includes milk, yogurt, and cheeses. Milk contains a lot of calcium. Not enough calcium can result in weak bones and osteoporosis. Milk also contains vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, and vitamin D. Vitamin C prevents a disease called scurvy. Scurvy is a disease that causes you to lose your teeth. Another important thing in dairy products is protein. Proteins are constructed of many essential element that the body needs to rebuild itself. Proteins are constructed of amino acids. The human body can manufacture some amino acids, but we must eat protein foods to provide those that the human body cannot make. As you probably know, vitamins are very good for the body. Most people need two to three servings of dairy products each day. However, growing bodies sometimes may need more.

The meats group includes meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts. Meats are an essential part of eating properly. Meats have plenty of protein, which is also essential for the body. Meats are a great source for vitamin B, which helps vision, the mouth, the brain, blood cells, tissues, skin, and the nervous system. Fish and eggs contain vitamin D, which helps bones and teeth. Most nutritionists agree that two to three servings of meat should be eaten every day. However, again, growing bodies usually need more.

Vegetables are great for the body. They contain many vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Fiber helps food get through the digestive system, and without enough, constipation may result. A variety of vegetables is needed to get all the vitamins in all the vegetables. Not enough vegetables can cause weight problems and weak bones. Most people need three to five servings of vegetables per day.

Previously Top 5 Affiliate Myths

1. Affiliate Marketing is Easy to do than Product

Marketing. Look around many of the so called affiliate

marketers. All they try to do is to sell, sell and sell the affiliate

product whereas the visitor will easily identify the

game and wont play to your rules.

.Affiliate Marketing is cutting and pasting the ads

the merchants provide and voila sales start to happen.

No. The visitor is sick and tired of seeing the same

ads everywhere and off he goes.

. You dont need a website to be an affiliate. While it

is true that you really dont need a website, it always

helps to have your own website so that you can try to

capture the email address. Either you get the sale or

at least his email address to follow-up. No website, and

there is no way to get in touch with your visitor ever again.

4. You dont need to own the product you promote. It may

be true for some very big ticket items, normally for

info products, it is better you own the product and try

to presell rather than selling the product.

5. Its free to be an Affiliate Marketer. Its free to

join as an affiliate and if you are not going to invest

your time and effort you may as well start doing

something else worthwhile.

I would add this one

6. Affiliate Marketing is all about chasing people and trying to sell to them.

Wrong! There are many passive ways to sell. Better still, if you would like to invest a bit of effort and time to build a site with interesting contents, you can turn the way around - they actively search for your site and what you promote. In fact, you can earn money with your site using Google Adsense without joining a single affiliate program! Thinking that building a site is too hard for you? You can do it using a site name registration, site developing, site building and promoting system without knowing or learning HTML!

7.Affiliate Programs Dont Make Money

There are people who make lots of money with websites they dont own or operate. I would lke to give just one name as example.

Rosalind Gardener

I would like to be there too soon

After signing a couple of Affiliate programs and trying to send traffic, many come to conclusion that Aff programs dont pay and they are off to doing something else.

Dont commit this mistake. I have done it and left several hundred dollars on the table. Try to find out the conversion rate. If you can find out how many buyers you get for say 100, 1000 visitors, you will be able to find out the conversion rate. Anything above 1% isvery good conversion rate.

May be you should use, SIMA. Duncan will be able to help you. I have not yet used it, but it is recieving rave reviews all across.

Or you should go for a paid Tracking program which runs on its own server. I have very good experience with hypertracker and I would suggest anyone to try it. They even give a 15 day F^ree trial.

Once you have a clear idea, you can continue to promote it or choose a better program.

Since before the human race even began to analyze the habits of living organisms, there has always been the instinct of good and bad, right and wrong, and the concept that every living creature has a bit of both. One of the most morbid criminal acts that is instilled in some of the worse humans is sexually abusing children. While this act cannot be justified by any depth of comprehension, it can be studied, and in some cases, put to an end. In the United States alone, . out of 1000 children are reportedly sexually molested. Considering the thousands of millions of American children, that isnt as remote as it sounds. The physical and emotional effects of child abuse, examined in Child ABuse Pediatrics by Dr. Giardino, are displayed through the Indian child, Turtle, in Barbara Kingsolvers novel, The Bean Trees.

According to Dr. Angelo P. Giardino, Vice President at St. Crhistophers Hospital for Children, there are two main groups of condition an abused child undergoes physical damage, and emotional damage. Irritation, bleeding, bruising and any abnormal discharge are signs of external and internal damage, particularly bleeding. To avoid long-term damage, it is necessary to identify the source of blood or discharge immediately. Emotional damage is a far more typical condition used by others to identify a victim of sexual abuse. Common signs of abuse are depression, substance abuse, eating disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While no universal shor-term or long-time impact of sexual abuse has been identified, PTSD and depression are the disorders most commonly associated with sexual abuse.(Giardino ).

Both exampels of emotional and physical effects on an abused child are clearly provided in Kingsolvers The Bean Trees with one of the main characters, Turtle. Early on in the book, Turtle is taken into the care of Taylor Greer, the narrator. Taylor soon discovers that Trutle has been sexually abused from bruises and worse (Kingsolver 1). The novel goes on to describe Turtles emotional wounds through her slow development to talk. For a two or three year old, silence is a legitimate PTSD symptom. When Taylor eventually takes Turtle to see the doctor to gain a clearer picture of the dmamage thats been done, X-Rays expose healed fractures and internal tears all over the young childs body. The doctor also explains the concept of failure to thrive(Kingsolver 166) in which a body, when heavily truamatized at a young age, fails to grow and thus eventually stops working. While turtle does not have this part of sexual abuse aftermath, failure to thrive is a serious danger for most pre-toddler or toddler abuse victims.

Through Dr. Giardinos educational pediatrics article, and Kingsolvers example of real life, the effects on the body and mind of a sexual abuse victim have been thoroughly examined. For myself, the concept of sexual abuse towards young children is one of the most morbid human tendencies is practice today, with devastating statistics. To break the mind, as well as the body; hit two birds with one stone, as the fairly disturbing proberb goes; seems to be a power that the human race should not be allowed to wield.

St. Thomas Aquinas

St. Thomas Aquinas was a Dominican monk who believed that law mirrored a natural world order made known to humans by their own process of reasoning and by the divine revelation of Christian prophets. This view, along with the influence of Plato and Aristotle, helped Aquinas to develop his own moral theory and philosophy of life. This allowed him to respond to the relationship between natural law and human law which Aquinas put together as this; 'every human law has just so much of the character of law as it is derived from the law of nature. But if in any point it differs from the law of nature, it is no longer a law but a corruption of law '(Aquinas,17).

Aquinas was the most famous exponent of the Natural Law ethic. Aquinas developed Aristotles ideas and argued that the natural purpose of the world is found in God. Humans are free beings and are capable of choosing to follow the natural law of God which is understood through reason. He believed the human purpose was, to reproduce, to learn, to live harmoniously in society and to worship God. Natural law describes not only how things are but how things should be and this happens when things are fulfilling their natural purpose. Aquinas believed human beings were created by God and that each one of us has a particular purpose that we are potentially capable of achieving. He also taught that morality is not primarily based on commands from God but on reason which by its application can raise people to an awareness of morality. Aquinas states that, 'the light of natural reason, whereby we discern what is good and what is evil, which is the function of natural law, is nothing else than an imprint on us of the divine light '(Aquinas, 17). Aquinas also believed that even though an act may be good in itself like giving money to charity, it can be done for wrong reasons like if you are giving money to charity so that you can boast about it to others. He also saw a strong link between morality and happiness as he did not believe that moral life should be something humanity struggles to follow, instead he felt that it should come naturally. Aquinas also thought that it was important to distinguish between four types of laws which are Eternal law(God's entire plan), Divine law(Part of the eternal law known by revelation), Natural law(Part of eternal law humans figure out themselves) and Human law or Positive law(We create to help give precision to the natural law).

All in all, Aquinas, the great theologist and philosopher of his time who followed in the footsteps of Aristotle and Plato, was a naturalist philosopher who viewed the world as being created by God according to a plan that establishes the proper purpose of each thing. As human beings, he states that, 'humans have an intellect to understand the plan and the free will to choose or reject to conform to God's plan' (Aquinas, ), and this was his moral theory. Even though Aquinas unfortunately died from serious illness, he left behind a major influence on modern human rights theories and laws. Aquinas' belief of natural law was able to carry on through many other philosophers after him, proving him to be successful in his teachings and arguments towards the opposing side.

Ethical Case Study

Morgan Johnson is in a tough situation. The president of her company wants her to date all the sales invoices in the first half of May as if they occurred in the month of April. It's a hard thing to say refuse since the request is coming from such a high figure of authority as the president of the company. What she should do depends on the person she is; if she is one of strong moral character she should refuse at the expense of the possibility losing her job. On the other hand, if she wanted the inflated bonus she could manipulate the financial statements for the benefit of the company. The problem with this is she will be breaking some of the guidelines issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and may face prosecution or maybe even jail time.

If she did decide to what the president is asking of her it will affect the financial statements greatly. The balance sheet will be affected in a number of ways. First of all, the assets accounts receivable or the cash, depending on how the company takes in their revenue, will be increased. The inventory will obviously decrease as the goods were sold to the customers. The retained earnings portion of the balance sheet would increase in value as the company revenues increased.

Another financial statement affected by Morgan's decision would be the income statement. The income statement would have an inflated amount of money at the year-end then it would have previously. This will make the company appear as if they have more money than the really do. The increased revenues inflated the income statement; which in turn affects the overall net income.

One statement that might not be affected by Morgan's decision is the statement of cash flows. This depends on whether or not the company received cash for their goods sold. The customers may have purchased the goods on credit and therefore the statement of cash flows would remain unchanged. If the buyers purchased the goods with cash then the statement of cash flows would be over inflated along with the balance sheet and the income statement.

Another aspect that is worth taking a look at is how the financial statements will be affected for the month of May. The totals for May will obviously be lower than they usually are, but the month is one of big business for the company and it might be obvious that someone manipulated the numbers. That is up to the person to decide whether or not they want to take the risk of getting caught.

This practice will solve the problems with the banks in a few ways. The banks will see that the company is financially sound if they met their working capital ratio of 11. The working capital ratio is a measure of the ability the company has to pay its short-term obligations. Another ratio that might be of some importance is the inventory turn over ratio. This ratio would give the banks a better idea of how much business Green-Grow is actually doing. This ratio would be greatly inflated if they recorded the entire inventory that turned over in the first half of May on the balance sheets of the month of April. Doctoring the financial statements would give false information to the banks, but I believe that it would be effective in solving the company's problems with the bank

Barbara Gowdy depicts the way a child understands the world in "Presbyterian Crosswalk" by showing how they will quite often misconceive things. At the beginning of the story, the reader is shown that Beth believes that when her mother ran off with another man, Beth was supposed to go with her. Beth also feels that there may be something 'not right' about Jesus due to a hymn that she is read in Sunday school. Another example of how Gowdy illustrates a child's understand of the world is when Beth goes to her friend Helen's house and sees the 'No Solicitors' sign on their door and mistakenly believes this refers to her father's occupation. In these ways, Gowdy shows the reader how a child's comprehension of the world can be much different than that of an adult's.

When the reader is introduced to Beth's father, they find out that Beth is unsure of how he feels about her. She says that when her he comes home, he seems surprised to still see her there and says, "Who do we have here?" (74). She thinks that maybe he would have liked it better if she had gone with her mother and he resents the fact that he still has to care for her. She also says that when she gets rowdy, he squints at her as if she were radiating bright light. Beth believes that her father simply wants peace and quiet in his life, and she is just a nuisance to him. Beth is just a child, and as a result, she has a different view of the world, which is the reason she misinterprets her father, and believes that he wanted her to leave with her mother.

When Beth goes to Sunday school, she is a little disturbed by a verse of the hymn they are read because it speaks of "Jesus wanting to hold children to His 'bosom…'" (75) Gowdy displays how a child might think that an action like this is wrong, but also fears the consequences of upsetting God. Children are taught to be wary of strangers and even though in this scenario it is perfectly fine, children cannot always distinguish what is ok and what is not. Beth does not realize that Jesus loves children as a parent would, but she can acknowledge the fact that He is our savior. She is afraid that she may go to hell for these thoughts and as a result chants, "I love Jesus…" (76) every night for six months to try to make herself believe she really does love him. By showing how Beth is a little uncomfortable with Jesus holding children to his 'bosom,' as well as demonstrating her fear of God's wrath, Gowdy displays an adequate view of how a child's understanding of the world is greatly affected by the way that they are brought up.

Helen has a "No Solicitors" (80) sign on her door, which Beth believes refers to her father's profession. Her father is a lawyer, but Beth knows that he can also be referred to as a solicitor. Gowdy uses this to demonstrate how children have a tendency to confuse terms or mix up meanings, especially when they are so similar. In this case, Beth believes that Helen's family does not want lawyers coming to their house, when inn actual fact, the sign refers to door-to-door salesmen, not lawyers. Beth, not having enough exposure to the English language, does not realize her error, and assumes that the term solicitor refers exclusively to lawyers.

Since its inception in 11, The Federal Reserve, or as it is more popularly known as "the Fed," has played a very important role in the United States economy. (Colander, 001, p. ) For almost a century now, the Fed has impacted the way in which our economy operates, and the state it is in. Therefore, it is imperative that the views and opinions of the Federal Reserve are taken into consideration when evaluating current or future monetary policy. Through examination of its website, the Feds views on the state of the economy will be evaluated, along with its concerns on high inflation, the possibility of a recession, and its direction of recent monetary policy.

The most recent Federal Reserve Monetary Policy Report, submitted to Congress on July 15, 00, indicates that the state of the economy is improving and expanding, "the Committee judged that it would be prudent to add further support for economic expansion. The Federal Reserve expects economic activity to strengthen later this year and in 004, in part because of the accommodative stance of monetary policy and the broad-based improvement in financial conditions" (www.federalreserve.com)

Currently, the Federal Reserve is not very concerned with the possibility of a recession or high inflation. However, rather than being concerned about high inflation, the Fed is very concerned with a decline in the inflation rate. As stated in the previously mentioned report, "because of the considerable amount of economic slack prevailing and the economy's ability to expand without putting upward pressure on prices, the Committee indicated that the small chance of an unwelcome substantial decline in the inflation rate was likely to remain its predominant concern for the foreseeable future" (www.federalreserve.com).

Furthermore, monetary policy is a pivotal economic policy used the most in macroeconomics, and is a pivotal function the Fed is responsible for. According to Colander, "The Fed conducts and controls monetary policy, whereas fiscal policy is conducted directly by the government" (p. -4). The Feds recent monetary policy would be classified as expansionary. As quoted from the Feds report, "The members of the Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve Bank presidents, all of whom participate in the deliberations of the FOMC, expect economic activity to accelerate in the second half of this year and to gather additional momentum in 004". (www.federalreserve.com) This is proving to be true as the GDP came in at 7.%, it's highest since 184, and the most recent unemployment report was very encouraging.

There is no denying the Federal Reserve's predominant mark on the US economy over the last 0 years. By working closely with the government, it has helped dictate economic policy during this time. Subsequently, its views are essential in gathering and deciphering information on economic activity. Upon examination of its economic reports, it was found that the improvement of the economy is gaining momentum, a decline in inflation rates are its main concern, and expansionary monetary policy is now underway.

Working Teenagers

In some countries, teenagers have jobs while they are still students. There are

several reasons why a child decides to work at such a young age or why sometimes is

Write my Essay on Working teenagers for me

forced to do so, but they are not strong enough to overcome the fact that after all a

teenager is still a child and should do things appropriate to its age. Although one of

the reasons a teenager works is in order to help financially his family, he should avoid

having a job while he's still a student because at this young age he should have other

things as priorities, such as having fun, studying for school, and getting the best

educational bases for his future career in the working field.

Some people would argue that there are many advantages for the teenager that

works while he is still a student. The most important arguments that those people

state is that a working teenager learns many things about life through his job and gets

the practical experience to enter the real world in a more dynamic way when he

finishes school. He also learns to be financially indipendent and, to understand the

value of money. That, is also of great comfort and help for families of low economic

status that need to have all of its members working in order to support themselves.

There is no doubt that those arguments are true but they can't be compared to the

things a teenager loses when he has to work and go to school at the same time.

One of the main reasons that a student shouldn't work is the fact that he will not

have time for himself. At that age he is still a child that needs to have fun, go out

with friends and enjoy himself as much as he can, instead of having the

responsibilities that a job provides. A student's time is important to be dedicated to

himself and a job while being at school will not leave much time to the teenager for

personal pleasure and activities.

Another reason why a student should not work has to do with his productivity. I

f he works half a day he has no time to study for school and as a result he doesn't do

well. He gets very tired because his day is full and therefore he is not able or willing

to perform well neither at his job nor at school.

Finally, one of the chief arguments against the fact that teenagers work while they

are still studying has to do with the importance of education. Before entering the

working field a person must create the best educational bases he can, starting from

finishing high-school. A student should devote himself in getting as much knowledge

he can in order to make future achievements and in order to be able to survive from

the competition in the working field later on. As a child that he still is, he should

bother getting as stronger theoretical knowledge and experience before he gets into

practice.

Personally, I hope that all teenagers have the opportunity to have the best

education they can before they get a job, although sometimes their needs force them

to find one at that young age that they are still at school. I believe that every thing

must be done in a certain time in order to have the best results and that teenagers are

still children and should have other priorities and other things in their minds instead of a job

As you walk down Broadway on a blistering cold winter day, you can't help but feel the pain of the homeless people huddling around barrels of fire trying to stay warm. In New York City there are way to many homeless people. You see many people with torn up clothes and signs begging for money. They need the money to survive and buy food, not the extra stuff we take for granted. That's not fair.

Many people are homeless but it might not be their fault. Some homeless people are lazy and want to be homeless. But the majority of homeless people don't want to be homeless. Do you think that homeless people like having no home and always being hungry?

Many homeless people are people who have been working all their lives and just can't keep up with the expensive rent these days. Also, some people just can't get a job so they have to scavenge around the city to survive. Some are disabled veterans who went to war and when they got back the country they fought for took their homes. When a person can't physically work shouldn't our government help support them?

" Each year, families make up about half the homeless population." Says National Alliance to End Homelessness.

Write my Essay on "Do Homeless People Have Choices?" for me

Many homemakers lost their working husbands and can't pay the rent so they loose their houses and have to live on the streets. After a couple of weeks they use all of their savings and have to scavenge around for food. You might even see one of the homeless mothers looking for food in a garbage can to feed her baby. That's not right. It is not her fault that her husband passed away. She should get a break and get a little house to take care of her family in.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture," 4 million people went hungry in 000-including 1 million children."

About eighty-five percent of the homeless population doesn't want to be homeless. The other fifteen percent of the people who don't want to work deserve to be homeless. Those people don't work and all they do is ask working people for their money. Many of them can't get jobs because they are homeless and people see them as dirty and disgusting. They don't want to have to pay taxes. We have to pay taxes and some of our tax money goes to them. That's not fair for working people. We work hard for every dollar we get. Is it fair that hard working people need to pay for the homeless people that don't feel like working but are able to?

Many homeless people don't go to the homeless shelters because of the conditions. You have to share a very small room with three to four families you don't even know. You have to line up in the kitchen hours before it opens or there will not be any food left for you. This country needs a better plan for the homeless people so they have more space and they won't be scared of going to stay at a shelter.

"Every night in the United States, about 750,000 people experience homelessness." Says National Alliance to End Homelessness.

I believe that every person should go volunteer a couple hours of their time each week and help at a shelter. Just think, if everyone, including you, just pitched in a little to help these poor homeless people, what a difference it would make in their and our world.

Heart of Darkness contains two layers of narration. The outer narrator is a passenger on the pleasure ship The Nellie, who hears Marlow recount one of his "inconclusive experiences" (1) as a riverboat captain in Africa. This unnamed narrator speaks for not only himself, but also the four other men who listen to Marlow's story. He breaks into Marlow's narrative infrequently; mainly to remark on the audience's reaction to what Marlow is saying. He is omniscient only with respect to himself, since he cannot tell what the others on the boat are thinking. The inner, and main narrator of Heart of Darkness is Marlow. He tells the other passengers of his story "into the heart of darkness" (6) in the first person singular, and the only thoughts the reader has access to are Marlow's.

This novel has two separate settings. The frame narrative is set in London, England, aboard "The Nellie, a cruising yawl, [that had] swung to her anchor without a flutter of the sails, and was at rest" (15). She is anchored in the Thames River, where her passengers wait for the tide to go out. The second setting is that of Marlow's actual tale. In it, he travels first to Company Headquarters in Brussels, then to the Belgian Congo in Africa. Much of the story takes place as Marlow fights his way down the Congo River, deep in the jungle. After accomplishing his mission, Marlow returns to Belgium to visit Kurtz's intended. All of this happens sometime towards the latter part of the 1th century, when imperialism in Africa was at it's highest, and the ivory trade was thriving.

Marlow is a complicated, round, dynamic character in Heart of Darkness. He travels into the Congo to find a man, Kurtz, that he doesn't know, but begins to admire him nonetheless. Marlow comments to his listeners on The Nellie that "The point was in [Kurtz] being a gifted creature, and that of all his gifts the one that stood out pre-eminently, that carried with it a sense of real presence, was his ability to talk, his words the gift of expression, the bewildering, the illuminating, the most exalted and the most contemptible, the pulsating stream of light, or the deceitful flow from the heart of an impenetrable darkness" (7). In this one comment, Marlow reveals much about his character. Although he entered Africa with at least an inkling that imperialism was a positive thing, he quickly learned the truth that it was driven by greed and lust alone. Marlow is torn by that "deceitful flow", because he recognizes what it is, but cannot distance himself from it. At the end, he becomes part of the "deceitful flow" by lying to Kurtz's intended, despite the fact that he had a good motive.

Kurtz is portrayed in Heart of Darkness as a veritable renaissance man. He is not only an excellent writer, painter, poet, and musician, but a world-class orator as well. These skills, along with several guns, are what make the natives worship him. When Marlow asks about Kurtz as he travels to meet him, he is merely told, "Mr Kurtz is a very remarkable person" (7). This may be an understatement, since at that very moment Kurtz was a god to the villagers he sacrificed. Kurtz is a round character, and dynamic as well. He espoused the idealism of imperialism and the pure side of the European presence in Africa, and traveled to the Congo in order to bring civilization and culture to the savages, or whatever it was they thought they were doing. In time, however, the evil that surrounded him made it's way into his heart, and he became worse that anything about imperialism he imposed. Kurtz continually talks about progress, enlightenment, and kindliness in the European presence in Africa. In his actions, however, he murders the natives, steals whatever they have, and allows himself to become their deity. These sides clashing within him are probably what drive him to madness.

Money, cars, expensive clothing, and extravagant parties; Who would not enjoy a life style like this? For many people this would be a dream come true, but not in the case of James Gats, or better yet Jay Gatsby. In the novel The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsbys real dream is to be with his beloved Daisy. She is the whole reason for his existence, he is deadly obsessed over Daisy. There is a twist to the story though, Daisy has a life already going, she is married and has a child with her husband Tom. Tom is a cheating husband, everyone knows about it, but he gets away with it. Through out the novel Gatsby tries to win the attention and love he so desires from Daisy. In pursuing his dream Gatsby affects and changes his life and life style.

In following his dream Gatsby first off changes his life style and way of being to get closer to Daisy. In doing so, Gatsby becomes obsessed with being closer to her that he behaves in strange manners, for example at one point in the story he is reaching out to a green light. Why on gods green earth would some one spend time reaching out to a light? The green light comes from Daisys home and it represents and symbolizes the distance, the gap between Gatsby and Daisy. He stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and as far as I was from him I could have sworn he was trembling involuntarily I glanced seaward -- and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away, that might have been the end of a dock. (Fitzgerald, 6). The quote states that the green light was far away, just like Daisy was also far away from him. Gatsby, being obsessed over her would spend time reaching for his beloved Daisy. At the time, Daisy did not knot even know that he lived near her. Possibly it had occurred to him that the colossal significance of the light had now vanished forever. Compared to the great distance that has separated him from Daisy it had seemed very near to her, almost touching her, (Fitzgerald, 8). This quote took place at Nicks house while they were having tea, they ended up going to Gatsbys house ; he shows off his house and all his clothes. By this point Gatsby is closer to his dream, it is also mentioned that the significance of the green light vanishes for ever, proving that Gatsby and Daisy are to see each other frequently.

Not only did Gatsby become obsessed in pursuing his dream, but he also became very jaded. Gatsby was very jaded or blinded from the truth, he truly believed that Daisy was a pure and honest person. She was the first nice girl he had ever known, in various unrevealed capacities he had come in contact with such people but always with indiscernible barbed wire between. ( Fitzgerald,155). This quote shows that Gatsby is jaded because he is blinded from to see the real truth about Daisy. In his eyes, Daisy is a person that he may open up to unlike with others where he feels like there is a barbed wire in between, which in reality Daisy doesnt really mind his feelings. In the novel Daisy is always wearing white or is related to white representing innocence or purity. His heart beat faster and faster as Daisys white face came up to his own (Fitzgerald,117). Once again this quote shows that Gatsby believes that Daisy is innocent or pure when in reality she is immoral.

Aside from becoming obsessed and jaded while chasing his dream to be closer to Daisy, Gatsby also showed characteristics of being a driven man. Gatsby is driven to accomplish his dream aswell as to live in the past, where at one point Daisy corresponded to him. I wouldnt ask too much of her, I ventured. You cant repeat the past, cant repeat the past ? He cried incredulously, why of course you can! (Fitzgerald,116). This passage shows Gatsbys desire and also shows that he is driven to turn back the hands of time and make the situation between him and Daisy to what it once was before when Daisy and him were together.

Cruel, Inhumane, and Unacceptable

In order to prevent another holocaust from occurring, American schools must teach it to educate people about the inhumanities that occurred during this time, and informing people about this tragedy depends on witnesses like Elie Wiesel. In educating people about the Holocaust, schools are presenting them with cruel, inhumane, and unacceptable behavior, which they will see and learn not to follow. One reason that the incongruous cruelty of the Holocaust must be taught in schools is because some people believe that it is feasible that the Holocaust never happened. In a survey some results were shocking; "1% of the adults and 17% of the students said that they didn't know whether it was possible the Holocaust ever took place" ("Many Ignorant" A). (CP) These results are completely unacceptable; the percentage for these statistics should be zero. That is why truthful information on the Holocaust must be taught. Another reason that the Holocaust must be taught in schools is because people need to know that the events of the Holocaust were unethical. Eva Kumpfert, a Holocaust survivor, once said, "We have to say the truth...come to terms with it" ("Horror" A). This quote stresses the importance of talking about past events and how important it is to teach other generations how wrong the actions of the Holocaust were. Similarly, education about the Holocaust is important because it teaches people that the Holocaust was inhumane, and that people must not follow similar footsteps. Wiesel expressed this by saying, "No one has suffered like the Jewish people have. No people were exterminated for their being" (Murphy 4). The inhumanities of the Holocaust need to be well displayed so that future generations know that those kinds of actions are morally wrong. Future generations must be informed about the terrible events of the Holocaust, so they acknowledge that it happened, and that the unethical and inhumane ways of the Holocaust are unacceptable.

The terrible events of the Holocaust caused Elie Wiesel to take a self-imposed vow of silence for ten years, but when he told his story to he world, he contributed to the cause of informing people about the Holocaust. (AP) Wiesel, a surviving Holocaust victim, contributes to the cause of informing people about the Holocaust by telling his audience the importance of family even in times where self-preservation seems best. Wiesel said, "My God, Lord of the Universe, give me the strength never to do what Rabbi Eliahou's son has done" (Wiesel 87). Wiesel is asking God to not allow him to abandon his father to increase his own chance of survival, like Rabbi Eliahou's son did. Wiesel did not want the brutality of his surroundings to cause him to be brutal himself. (CP) In addition, Wiesel communicates the painful truth of his struggle with faith and how important it is to always have hope, helping people understand how the Jews were affected as a religious people. Wiesel said, "Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever" (Wiesel ). Wiesel claims he has completely lost his faith, as shown in this quote, but he truly has not. He prays to God at various times in his book Night. In the end, Wiesel lives and eventually recovers to full health. This shows that people should always have faith. Lastly, Wiesel contributes the emotional reality of the interminable Holocaust. (CX) Wiesel is laconic when he says, "Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreath of smoke beneath a silent blue sky" (Wiesel ). This quote shows the brutal reality of the Holocaust. It is extremely important for future generations to know what truly happened. For these reasons, schools must teach about the Holocaust to educate people about the truth and the inhumane actions; Wiesel effectively contributes to this education through his speeches and his book, Night.

Its not easy being a teen. Although I feel like an adult and wish to be more independent, my family and friends often treat me as if I were still a kid. The pressure of school and other responsibilities is there all the time as I begin to seriously think about what the future may hold.

There are many things I like and dislike about being a teenager. Some of my dislikes may include how someone is always watching you in a certain way just because you are a teen. For example one Saturdays night, my friends and I had walked into a supermarket. As we were walking around we noticed someone was watching/following us in the store. So we got kind of scared and started to walk toward the other side of the alie. But one of my friends had confronted him and asked him why he was following us. He answers and told us that it was his job to make sure nobody steals in the store. Then he asked him why he was following us, he said that teens are main people that steal in the store. I thought that was so stereotypical of him to say. Just because some teens steal that doesn't mean that all teens steal. Another dislike I have about being a teen is that if a teen ever does anything out of the ordinary people blame that behavior on the jumping hormones teens have in their bodies. This is also very stereotypical because if some is in there teen years and are very hyper they blame it on the hormones. But if someone is at the ages from 4-10 year old and is hyper they blame it on age.

Being a teen is not always bad it sometimes have there advantages. For example it is the stage before my adult years and is the only time I have to do anything fun and adventurous before becoming in my eyes I an adult. In my eyes I think adults, like my parents, are very corny but when I grow up I would think differently because I will be one of them. Some other thinks I like about my teen life is that the relationship I have with girls. When you are a teen I think relationships are not really as important as when you grow up. So I think that it is a time when you have good convocations and start to have a sex life.

There are many people responsible for a teenager's behavior. It is not only parent, it could be teen's friends, brothers, sister or it could even be a stranger (role model). Parents are one of the major ones. I feel this way because a teen closest or the person they had now the most is their parent. There are many things. A parent can influence on their child and not even know it. For example if a parent j-walks every times he / her cross the street the child might also j-walk when they are with the friends. Another example is if a parent smokes and a child grows up to think that smoking is O.K. Friend do the same if one of the friends smoke. He would say

"Just try it once". Peer pressure and they would do it. So in conclusion parents are not the only people who interest teens.

If a teen does something illegal I strongly believe the parent should not get punish. I feel this way because why should the parent get punish a teen does something illegal. I understand that a parent is responsible for the child until they turn 18 but I disagree with that because why should someone get punished for someone else problems. For example do you think it is fair if you teen, son tell a man is it fair for the parent to go to jail? I also think that a parent has no control over their son or daughter at the teen age.

The Role Player

The exceptional player and the role player are very different, the exceptional player is a leader and can help everyone to mesh well. She keeps the team as one and working together. But the role player can still get the job done with no questions asked. Each role player has her own part on the team even though she may not start; she keeps her head in the game even when she¡¦s sitting on the bench watching.

I would want to be a role player for now, because I don¡¦t think I am ready for the responsibility yet to be an exceptional player but I will work hard to get there as quickly as I can.

Abortion, termination of pregnancy before the fetus is capable of independent life. When the expulsion from the womb occurs after the fetus becomes viable (capable of independent life), usually at the end of six months of pregnancy, it is technically a premature birth.

Cheap Custom Essays on the role player

Abortion is the medically induced, premature death of a pre-born baby in the womb. There are several methods used

„h Suction Aspiration

the method of abortion most commonly used in first trimester abortions. A powerful vacuum suction tube is put into the dilated uterus. The suction tears the soft baby apart and removes it from the uterus.

„h Dilation and Curettage (D&C)

The dilation of the cervix which permits the insertion of a sharp surgical instrument will be used to dismember the babys developing body.

„h Dilatation and Evacuation (D&E)

Used after 1 weeks, this method is identical to the D&C method except that forceps are used to twist and tear away the body that now has calcified bones.

„h Salt Poisoning (Saline Injection)

Used after 16 weeks. A long needle is inserted into the mother¡¦s abdomen into the babys sac. The baby breathes in swallowing the deadly toxin and is poisoned. The mother delivers a dead or dying baby.

„h Prostaglandin

Hormones, developed by the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co., are injected into the amniotic sac to induce contractions. In an article about this method, one of the complications listed was live birth.

„h Hysterectomy

Similar to a Cesarean Section, this method employed by abortionists almost always results in a live birth. The baby is left to die by neglect or direct art.

„h Dilatation and Extraction (D&X)

By pulling on the babys legs with forceps, the legs arc delivered, followed by the torso, arms and shoulders. The babys head usually remains inside the uterus. Using blunt-tipped surgical scissors, the babys skull is pierced where a suction catheter is inserted to extract the skull contents. Fetal brains and organs are used for fetal tissue experimentation.

No Safe Abortions

There is no such thing as a safe legal abortion. Abortion is a decriminalized crime against humanity.

Many women often experience debilitating physical and psychological complications. As Christians, we know Jesus Christ will forgive us of all confessed and repented sin. Unfortunately, some women and men have a hard time

forgiving themselves and are thus hindered in their growth.

„h When does the unborn babys heart begin to beat?

The heartbeat begins between the eighteenth and twenty-fifth day.

„h When does the brain begin to function?

Electrical brain waves have been recorded as early as forty days.

„h How early can a baby survive outside the mothers womb?

Currently, twenty weeks is considered the accepted minimum. However, this time will be reduced as medical technology continues to improve.

Tolerance, Self¡VIdentity, and Class Room Practices

The national education policy is a blueprint to foster inter-racial harmony and tolerance. The assumption is that if we can instil these values in the hearts and minds of the younger generation (most of whom are in the schools) than we can build a future society that will not self-destruct due to narrow self interest and prejudices. Once again, this responsibility is put on the shoulders of teachers. Instead of viewing it as an unwanted burden, teachers should feel honoured that the nation has categorically put the trust of ensuring the future of the country in their hands. This is indeed a powerful position to be in. The question is are teachers aware of this?

Although, tolerance and racial harmony should be inculcated from the very beginning of schooling, it actually becomes a serious issue only at the secondary level. At the primary level, children are just children. They play, fight and get back together. They seldom hold grudges. Their animosity, if one exists, does not last for long and unless consciously taught by irresponsible adults, they do not habour racial prejudices.

However, at the secondary level, students become more aware of their identity. Erik Erikson, the famous psychologist, said that we create our self identity at the adolescence stage. This is the time when one's racial, cultural and linguistic identity becomes important in ones life. Adolescents like to think of themselves and everything associated with them as unique and superior compared to others. They find it difficult to accept the fact that other races and cultures too have their own uniqueness and claims of greatness. Hence, it is very easy for adolescents to withdraw into a false sense of racial/cultural exclusiveness because for them this is the only way to preserve their identity. This problem will take on a nasty dimension when undesirable elements from the society at large gain excess to their minds and hearts. The end result of this is we will have to deal with adolescents who are self centred, bigots and over zealous in exhibiting their racial and cultural identity.

Help with essay on self identity

What can teachers do to enhance the development of students?positive self identity and at the same time instil tolerance and understanding among them ? First, teachers themselves must have developed a stable and healthy self identity. Many adults do not grow out of their adolescence ways and they carry this psychological baggage all through their lives. Second, teachers must not pretend that racial and cultural differences do not exists or that they are not important. In a multi racial classroom, teachers should talk about these differences. For example, they can discuss the taboos relating to food and drinks among the various races and the social and religious reasons behind it. They can discuss the major precepts of the various religions in this country. Even the so called controversial ones. The important thing is how it is discussed not what is being discussed. Third, teaching tolerance and building a healthy self identity must be viewed as a conscious effort. It does not take place automatically even in the most supportive environment. Fourth, teachers must ensure that students of various racial and cultural background feel that they are being treated fairly and equally. Nothing is more heart breaking than to hear students complaining of being sidelined due to their race or religion.

The classroom may become the battleground or the playground of our future generation. Teachers have the power to make that choice.

Carbohydrates Short-Term Energy Storage

Carbohydrates include biologically important molecules, sugars & starches. These molecules provide short-term energy to cells. Carbohydrates are made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The carbon provides the "back-bone" of the molecule.

Carbohydrates, like many other organic molecules, may be monomers or polymers. The carbohydrates in the monomer form are known as monosaccharides. Glucose, for example, is a monosaccharide. Disaccharides are sugars that are made of monosacchrides. Sucrose is an example of a disaccharide. Desaccharides are formed by a process called dehydration synthesis ( also known as condensation reaction). In this process, a molecule of water is split out as the bond is formed. The disaccharides are broken down into monomers by a process called hydrolysis. Hydrolysis occurs when a molecule of water is used up as a bond is broken to make smaller products. Polysacchrides are large carbohydrate molecules that are polymers of monosacchrides like glucose. Some important polysacchrides include starch, glycogen & cellulose. Starch is the energy storage molecule in plants and a good source of energy for human cells. Glycogen is the short-term energy storage molecule in human cells. Cellulose is the molecule that makes up plant cell walls. Organisms must break down the polysaccharides to use the glucose.

Lipids Long-term Energy Storage

Nicholas D. Kristof's editorial entitled "Casting a Cold Eye on Arctic Oil" provides a credible personification in itself. Written as a first hand account, the author clearly takes a stand regarding the debate about whether or not to drill in the Arctic Wildlife refuge. His main idea asserts that by excavating the land for drilling we would deprive our children of our national inheritance (Kristof A5). Also, the topic is identified as general and theoretical.

The first stage of his argument, conjecture, is that there is an argument to be considered. "The argument I find most compelling is that this primordial wilderness, a part of our national inheritance that is roughly the same as a thousand years ago, would be irretrievably lost if we drilled," states Kristof (Kristof A5). He acknowledges that both the environmentalists and oil industry have differing opinions on how to use the land in the Arctic wilderness, of which he agrees with the preservation of the land.

Secondly, he defines his argument by expounding on the contrasting arguments of each party. The "coastal plain is a wasteland" and the "impact of the drilling would be a ,000-acre footprint," contend the drilling supporters (Kristof A5). On the contrary, the author periodically inserts his argument that saving the land will allow us to show our kids the original appearance of America (Kristof A5). Kairos is engaged by the oil drillers when they talk about Daniel Esty's proposed deal which would just be exploratory drilling, until something is found. This perfect timing is an attempt to appease the environmentalists so that they might give into the argument.

Next, Kristof employs the seriousness of the issue by explaining what the possible outcomes could be. Proposing that we drill there, if it results that there are limited oil reserves then they would have wasted the wilderness for nothing. In addition, drilling would also include excavation of the land far more to exceed the ,000 acres that drilling supporters anticipated. This gross understatement by the oil supporters spurs Kristof to list all the other consequences of the drilling. "It's also fair to give special weight to the view of the only people who live in the coastal plains," Kristof asserts (Kristof A5). On the other hand, following the environmentalist approach would anger the local Eskimos who strongly favor the drilling in hopes of acquiring wealth and power. "If environmentalists were so anxious about the Arctic, they should come here and clean up the petroleum that naturally seeps to the surface," said angry Eskimo Bert Akootchook (Kristof A5). However, by not drilling it is agreed they could be squandering the opportunity to tap into a source so the dependence on foreign oil is eliminated.

Finally, a procedure is offered in attempt to settle this dispute. Kristof affirms that President Bush's policy to drill in the Arctic refuge is just an endeavor to "lunge for oil" (Kristof A5). As a zealous believer of no drilling in the Arctic refuge, Mr. Kristof decides to let Congress determine the fate of the land.

In conclusion, the author does reach stasis because both parties agree that there is a disagreement on all bases of the argument. A resolution is possible once the decision of Congress is published. I am sure the polar bears won't mind.

Empathy or Sympathy

Paul Laurance Dunbar was an African American whose poetry inspired by the struggles of his people. Although Dunbar had no direct experience of slavery, he believed African Americans continued to be treated as second-class citizens. Their freedom was limited due to their skin color. Dunbar tried to express his feelings of sorrow. He craved freedom and the ability to live like other groups of people. In order to share his sorrow and sadness Dunbar wrote poems. In this poem that entitled "sympathy " he uses imagery of a caged bird to articulate his desire for freedom. He uses the caged bird as a metaphor in all three stanzas. In the first stanza the bird desires freedom, in the second stanza the bird seeks freedom and in the third stanza the bird recognizes that he will never achieve freedom.

In the first stanza Dunbar uses metaphor to show that he desires freedom. He uses fragments such as wind, river, sun, and singing birds to describe freedom to his readers. The Sun represents warmth, life and brightness. People can see things better when it is daylight. The image of the shining sun elicits feelings of warmth and happiness. The power of the sun over the highest point of the land can be seen, when the sun is bright on the upland slopes. Although the sun is not available and upland slopes are not available at all times, with closed eyes one can feel the sun. The same is true of the wind. When Dunbar says, "when the wind stirs soft through the spring grass" it is like he can reach out his hand to touch the spring grass and feel the breeze go through his fingers. In "Sympathy" wind represents movement and happiness of life, especially when it is gentle and slow. Wind also evokes freedom because it goes in every direction. Wind can travel through the spring grass, desert and through the opening crack of a window or door. River has the same meaning to the poet. The wild river flows wherever it wants and makes a wild noise. A stream of glass is another image in this poem that intensifies his hearing. The sound of the river reminds the bird of freedom and wildness. Bringing the opening of first bud together with the first singing bird is not a coincidence. The two events represent spring and he intensifies the good feeling about spring. Dunbar feels all the beauty of nature. He uses metaphor to describe his own feelings to be free. Sun, wind, river and singing birds are ways to express his desire for freedom. He sees and feels freedom in society, all the opportunities that other people have, but he just desires and wishes to have them "I know what the caged bird feels!"

In the second stanza, he explains his desire to achieve his highest potential and break all the chains of discrimination. He is like the caged bird stretching his wings to fly, but is constrained by his small cage. There are visual fragments in this stanza such as blood, old scars and physical pain to represent his emotional pain. Dunbar represents society as a cage that does not allow him to achieve his potential. The swing on the bough and flying back to his perch and clinging are the symbols of freedom. He wishes for the same opportunity as his neighbors, namely other birds. He sees other birds singing and the wind stirring at will. Dunbar describes discrimination as being trapped in a cage. It is not like a wall because he can see freedom of the other people, but he cannot achieve it himself. Society deprives him of opportunities that others enjoy. But he does not lose confidence and struggles for his freedom until symbolic blood flows. These efforts and struggles have existed for ages. "A pain still throbs in the old, old scars and they pulse again with a keener sting". His ancestors have been fighting for years but have yet to gain complete freedom. He feels the pain of old scars, the scars incurred by his parents and grandparents. The injustice and suffering of his ancestor remains as scars. Despite these problems, he as the bird beats his wing and fight to confront the injustice of his situations " I know why the caged bird beats his wing ".

Breaker Morant is a film set in the 100's during the Boer war where the British were in battle with farmers is Africa. As part of the alliance, the Australians were involved in the war almost automatically because of the British. As the film unfolds, it's revealed that the British Army were involved in a court case with the Australians for disobedience during the war and the killing of the Boer prisoners and the murder of a German missionary who witnessed the murder of the six Boers. This film portrays the fact that it's an anti- Australian film and tends to favour the British. From the onset of this film, it's evident that there is tension between the Australians and the British. Reasons for this being an anti-Australian film is that they were only allowed 1 day to prepare for this case, an inexperienced defence lawyer was given to the Australian men, and the verdict was already made prior to the case, leaving the Australians only to be convicted of the accused charges.

Harry Morant, Peter Handcock and George Whitton were the three Australian men who were tried before the court martial and were all found guilty on all three counts. Morant and Handcock were shot the next day and Whitton was given a life sentence. The trail itself was a "bloody sham" and was a set up to sacrifice the Australian men to keep the name of the British clean. Morant and Handcock were the scapegoats in this case to aid the British to keep its position in the Empire. The sacrifice of these men was the way the British apologised for the war. The men were tried in an atrocious manner. These convictions had to be made and to be executed to keep the Germans from entering the war, as they were seen as a threat by Lord Kitchener and the Bushveldt Carbineers.

The inexperience of the lawyer was enough to ensure that the Australian men were made an example of and the false accusation supported by false witnesses and inaccurate evidence ensured the trio were sentenced to death. Under Lord Kitchener's orders, these convictions had to be made. It's apparent that this is strongly pro-British film as the men were convicted of crimes which everyone involved in the war were guilty of and could all be convicted like these men have. A number of the accusations put forward by the British were that they murdered innocent people and didn't have a right to do so in that manner. As this was a war, there are very few rules that restrict a person from killing people on the opposing side. The transfer of defence witnesses were timely transferred to India replaced by false witnesses that were bought by Kitchener to get the desired results, guilty on all accounts.

The hearing, which was a sham, is not rare in countries such as Australia as it was shown during the Vietnam War.

Atticus Finch and the Truth

To some, truth is merely the absence of lies. However, to Atticus Finch, a main character in To Kill a Mockingbird, it means much more. This is understood because of the many examples of truth that are told in the novel. As the story progresses it becomes obvious that truth is very important to him. To Atticus, truth is confronting the whole story, a precious jewel worth defending, and an often-elusive goal worth pursuing.

Atticus always tells the whole truth and nothing less. Tom Robinson, a black man, is accused of raping a white woman. Scout asks Atticus what rape is. Instead of hastily changing the subject he unflinchingly explains that rape is ¡°carnal knowledge of a female by force and without consent¡± (15). Atticus believes that one must face the demons of society along with its angels. He explains to Jem and Scout what many would assume unfit for young ears. As Jem and Scout grow older they are gradually exposed to more of society¡¯s flaws. Unlike most parents Atticus helps his children come to terms with these societal blemishes rather than shielding them from everything.

Atticus is a very honest person who believes in defending the truth. He is appointed to defend Tom Robinson in court against Mayella Ewell. Many people are upset with Atticus because he ¡°aims to defend him¡± (16). This shows that he does what he knows is right despite of what others think. A majority of the citizens of Maycomb County believe that Tom is guilty simply for he is a black man. Atticus works his hardest to alter that belief. He shows everyone how Tom could not have been the person that beat and raped Mayella. Nonetheless, the jury is steadfast in their biased verdict and pronounces Tom guilty and Atticus loses his battle for truth.
